Giving Back
One of our most firmly held beliefs is in the importance of giving back. For many years we've participated in and initiated efforts to make our world a better place.
We believe in giving back in whatever way we can: by joining community organizations and being both creative and generous in our efforts to improve surroundings and the quality of life wherever needed.
Some of the accomplishments we’re most proud of are:
- Establishing the first "Early Act Club",a community service organization for kids in New England
- Organizing an annual holiday party for over 100 children in foster care
- Installing the “Rotary Field of Dreams” soccer field in Saftica, Romania
- Authoring a comprehensive study of the Romanian orphan problem
International Service has included:
- Participation in Rotaplast Missions, free surgeries for kids with facial abnormalities, Santa Cruz Bolivia and La Oroya Peru.
- Installation of a soccer field to be used by orphans in Saftica, Romania. At the time it was the only sports field with in ground irrigation in the entire country.
- Serving as District Chair of the 3H Grant for Romania Orphans
Locally, served as the following:
- President of the Rotary Club of Salem, MA
- Board Member and Treasurer, Massachusetts Dept. of Social Services, Cape Ann Area Board.
- Board Member and Director, Orphanact.org
- Early Act District Chair
- Member, Rotary Club Of Cambridge, MA
